Storm Join GDFL 2011

In 2011 The Shenango Valley Storm joined the GDFL. Going 8-3-1 gaining entry to the Championship tourneyment. Winning in a rematch of regular season foe The Buckeye State Bearcats ,that gave The Storm two of three losses. Beating the shocked Bear Cats 14-12 in Overtime..That made the season said Head Coach Mike Benner. Anytime you can beat a team that was undefeated and beat you twice is huge.
But the victory was short lived as The Storm had to travel seven and a half hours to Louisville, KY. Playing in 105 degree heat and conditions less than favorable The Storm lost to the Derby City Thunder.." If I would have known about the playing situations in Louisville I wouldnt have dragged my team there.
I called the league and they explained the situation. We were faced with an up hill battle from the time we stepped off the bus.But none the less played the game. we want to be known as ateam that keeps it word and shows up to all games..Now looking forward to the 2012 season and the GDFL Championship
